Children learn about the world around them using their senses. Encourages Proprioceptive Sensory Input Using “Heavy Work”, carrying bags of soil, digging holes, moving dirt, etc. Encourages Tactile Input Sorting seeds, feeling plant textures, squeezing/sifting dirt, harvesting, etc. Encourages Fine Motor Skill Development sorting and planting seeds, writing in the dirt with fingers, picking weeds/plants, etc.
